The lighting in indoor rinks can be quite tough to work with.
I put this together to demonstrate the variable lighting and the affect it has on images out of the camera and how we will clean them up to make great prints. This sequences was shot at 10 frames per second with all manual settings for exposure and white balance. You will notice the color shifts and exposure degrade with each frame. These lights pulse and can vary light output and color that the human eye can't see. The files on the left are straight out of the camera with no post processing and how most will look in hockey galleries and the ones on the right are processed for a 5x7 print.
When you are deciding which pictures to order, try not to look at the crazy color casts and focus more on the main subject. If the main subject is sharp, that is all we need to make an excellent print. We will crop, straighten, exposure shift, color balance, and sharpen all files that are ordered for print or download. If you ever have any question as to how a picture will look after processing or are having trouble deciding between one print or another, shoot us an email and let us help you decide or process the pictures and put them in a proof gallery for you to view the finished product.
And don't forget we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all prints.
